Kids Books Christian
Any Christians who ALLOW their kids to read Harry Potter books?
As a Christian I can't tell you how I struggled with the "Harry Potter" thing. I read some books on why I shouldn't allow my kids I watch it, saw a tv show about it and even read tons of email about it.
But after I my husband & I watched the movie was threw in the towel and said, "It's just a book! They are just movies. What's the big deal?"
I know there are a good bit of Christians who are against the books and movies. I understand their point too because I was once there.
But I want to hear from Christians who do allow their kids to read the books and watch the movies.
My 11yr old is happily reading the 1st book now and so proud of herself for reading almost 4 chapters TONIGHT! I'm proud of her too! lol She's reading and I love it.
The sad thing is her best friend who is a Christian too is not allowed to read the books or watch the movies so she can't share her Harry Potter adventures with her. Sad isn't it?
How do your kids deal with this?
OK, I'm not a Christian but I don't understand the viewpoint at all. I would be tickled to death that my kid was READING lol. It is just a book, it isn't real. Just like dressing up like Superman doesn't give you the ability to fly, but your imagination feeds on it. Now of course...if you start spouting that Harry Potter is like Jesus or something...then you might have an issue.
